Metaphorically but pertinently called "the Heart of Transylvania", the bi-millennial City of Cluj-Napoca is one of the most representative administrative, economic, cultural and educational centers of Romania.

The City of Cluj-Napoca is conveniently located at the junction of important means of communication - roads, railways and airlines - on the banks of the Somesul Mic River, at the crossing of the Apuseni Mountains with the Transylvanian Plateau and Plain, at 330-430 m altitude.

Besides being a renowned cultural and university center, the City of Cluj-Napoca is a flourishing economic, industrial, commercial, financial and banking center, whose development in all the areas of economy and services is especially favoured by the up-to-date transport services provided by the most competitive companies in the field.

Cluj-Napoca is crossed by the European Road E60 (Bucuresti - Brasov - Cluj-Napoca - Oradea - Budapest - Vienna) and by national roads of economic, social and tourist importance, linking our city to important cities like Baia Mare, Alba-Iulia, Bistrita, Targu-Mures, Zalau.

Cluj-Napoca is situated on one of the main railroads which cross the country towards the West: Bucharest to Brasov - Sighisoara - Cluj-Napoca - Oradea - Episcopia Bihor - Budapest - Vienna - Bratislava - Prague - Warsaw - Berlin - Rome - Venice - Paris. The railway transport is provided by the Railway Administration CFR.
